Dear Coaches,
It was a pleasure to coach against Andrew
during the High School season and then have him play for me this past summer for the New England Diamond Dawgs 15U AAU Team.
A quiet kid, Andrew excels at every facet
of the game. He is a good contact hitter, has power to all fields, has great
speed and is an exceptional defender. He is also a tremendous athlete. Andrew has the ability to play any position on the
field and excel at it. Andrew was the leadoff hitter for our team and the offensive
catalyst. He made things happen at the plate, on the bases and in the field.
He has the tendency to make the difficult plays look easy.
From my experiences this summer,
I would like to see Andrew work on a few things. I would like to see him more aggressive out in the field. At times he tends
to sit back and let the ball come to him. The same can be said on double plays.
He needs to play more in double play depth with runners on so that he can get the ball quicker, or get to the base quicker.
Andrew has a tremendous amount of potential
and has been successful at every level he has played.
If you have any other questions regarding
Andrew’s baseball ability, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Steve Botto
