DRACUT -- There are no local teams playing for Suburban Pony League titles this summer, as 14-15 Division top seed Dracut
East dropped a tough 7-6 decision to visiting Reading Red in the deciding game of their best-of-3 semifinal round playoff
series last night at the Dracut High JV field.
The setback gave Reading a 2-1 series victory and left Dracut East with a final overall record of 19-5. Reading will launch
a best-of-3 championship series tomorrow at Andover Gold.
In the 13-year-old Division, Chelmsford's 9-8 loss to Lynnfield on Sunday ousted the final local survivor.
Chelmsford also lost the series opener by 1 run, 11-10, before forcing a winner-take-all finale with a 10-4 triumph.
Lynnfield and Reading square off in the finals beginning tonight.
